AARP is looking for Tax-Aide volunteers to help more than 65,000 Michigan residents prepare and file their taxes in February through April of 2020.
ATTENTION ALL TAX PAYERS: AARP Foundation Tax-Aide anticipates that up to 30% of taxpayers who are expecting a refund of federal income tax based upon past year's returns will end up owing money for Tax Year 2018. In most cases this will be a result of lower withholding during the year, but in some cases they will be “losers” under the new law.
AARP Foundation Tax-Aide offers free tax-filing help to those who need it most. With the growing popularity of the program, AARP is looking for even more volunteers to join other compassionate and friendly individuals to assist.
Beginning February 1 and continuing through April 17, AARP Foundation is providing free tax assistance and preparation through its Tax-Aide program. AARP Foundation Tax-Aide, celebrating its 50 th year, is the nation’s largest free tax assistance and preparation service. Since its inception, the program has served more than 50 million taxpayers.
This year, AARP Foundation is again providing free tax assistance and preparation for taxpayers with low to moderate income through the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program, and is seeking volunteers to help with this service for the 2018 tax season. AARP Foundation Tax-Aide, approaching its 50 th year, is the nation’s largest free tax assistance and preparation service, giving special attention the older population. Training will begin next month.
