To encourage state lawmakers to prepare for the coming “age wave,” AARP Washington has compiled its Aging Agenda, which outlines policy and funding priorities for health care, long-term services and supports, financial security, housing and transportation.
About 20 percent of Washingtonians will be 65 or older by 2030, up from the current 13 percent. The age wave is expected to increase pressure on state services and infrastructure.
