AARP Indiana today sent a letter to Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb, the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH), and the Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) calling for more transparency about COVID-19 in long-term care facilities. Long-term care facilities include nursing, skilled nursing, residential, and assisted living facilities. Indiana is currently not publicly reporting the names of facilities where there have been positive cases of COVID-19 and deaths due to the virus.
The AARP Indiana team took to its phones and screens over the last two business weeks to engage with federal lawmakers and their staffs across the state as part of a Virtual Lobby Week effort.
AARP Indiana and Indiana’s Family and Social Services Administration’s (FSSA) Division of Aging teamed up for an informative Telephone Town Hall on May 8.
AARP is providing information and resources about COVID-19 to help older Hoosiers, and their families protect themselves from the virus and prevent it from spreading to others.
