AARP Pennsylvania Welcomes Steps to Improve Testing and Reporting of COVID-19 Cases in Long-Term Care Facilities
In response to the Wolf Administration’s plans to increase testing and public reporting of COVID-19 cases in the state’s long-term care facilities, AARP Pennsylvania State Director Bill Johnston-Walsh issued the following statement:
AARP Pennsylvania today encouraged members of the General Assembly and Wolf Administration to reach agreement on legislation that would establish new guidelines for telemedicine services in the Commonwealth.
AARP Kansas Thanks Governor Kelly for Extending Capacity of the State’s Health Care Workforce during Covid-19 Pandemic
AARP Kansas State Director Dr. Maren Turner, commended Governor Laura Kelly for issuing Executive Order No. 20-26 that allows for the relief from certain restrictions relating to the provision of healthcare services in light of the public health emergency of the COVID-19 pandemic. In particular, Dr. Turner thanked the Governor for permitting nurse practitioners and advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) to provide healthcare without written physician contracts.
The Pennsylvania House Professional Licensure Committee is currently considering Senate Bill 780, which would offer state residents more options for health care through telemedicine.
