Now celebrating its 20th anniversary season, the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark is offering AARP members and their guests a 20 percent discount on selected performances.

Jersey City and Newark are the first two cities in the state to pass laws requiring businesses with 10 or more employees to let workers earn up to five paid sick days a year to care for themselves or ailing family members. AARP New Jersey, which pushed for the municipal ordinances, hopes to take the policy statewide.

As many as 35,000 uninsured Delawareans could take advantage of the state’s new health insurance exchange. Established by the Affordable Care Act, the exchange functions as an online marketplace, allowing state residents to compare health insurance policies and find affordable coverage.
