POLITICO, the most robust global newsroom specializing in politics and policy, today announced a partnership with AARP, the nation's largest nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to empowering Americans 50 and older.

On Thursday, February 8, more than 125 volunteers and staff will be in Boise advocating on behalf of AARP members and all older Idahoans on the crucial issue of Family Caregiving. While meeting with members of the legislature, these volunteers and staff will ask lawmakers to support Senate Bill 1262, the Patient Caregiver Support Act.

The 2017 Idaho Legislature has finally adjourned “sine die!” AARP Idaho was at the Capitol the last three months working on your behalf. Many of our members were working with us, both at the Capitol and from their computers, helping to get our voice heard.

Our first-in-the-nation primary is right around the corner and it’s time for all the Presidential candidates to Take a Stand on their plans to update Social Security for the 21st century. We need Presidential leadership to make sure Social Security is financially sound so current and future generations can receive the adequate benefits they’ve earned.   And we need your help.

Because of New Hampshire’s first-in-the-nation primary, Presidential candidates make frequent visits to New Hampshire towns and cities. And when they do—AARP New Hampshire volunteers are right there meeting and greeting candidates and making sure they know how important Social Security is to older adults across the country.
