As part of National Hispanic Heritage Month, AARP Virgin Islands is participating in a two-day event aimed at bringing islanders together to have fun while learning about social services.
What resources do you believe are most important to support vulnerable seniors in Northern Nevada? What would the ideal set of senior services look and feel like to you and your family? These are the questions being posed to residents as Washoe County prepares its master plan for senior services. The county will be accepting input and suggestions through Open Washoe County, an online program for citizen input and feedback, through the end of July.
The AARP Foundation in Colorado is working with a variety of community partners to present the 2013 Fraud Prevention and Safety Summit—a one-day, no-cost event to empower you with tools and information to stay safe and avoid fraud before it happens. The event is organized by the 18th Judicial District Office of the District Attorney and will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at the Lone Tree Arts Center.
A new proposal by the Patrick Administration, funded through the Affordable Care Act , will coordinate health and long term care services for those aged 21 to 64 who receive both Medicare and MassHealth , the state’s Medicaid program. Newly created “Integrated Care Organizations,” will be responsible for making sure these individuals receive the services that address their full range of needs through one access point. The proposal may take effect as early as this Fall.
