Award winners with AARP staff and state president
To recognize their support of family caregivers across Wisconsin, two State Representatives – Mike Rohrkaste (R-Neenah) and Dianne Hesselbein (D-Middleton) – were recently honored with AARP awards as 2016 “Capitol Caregivers.”
AARP Nebraska will host listening sessions on key legislative issues affecting older Nebraskans in eight communities across the state from June 16 to June 26.

Do you live in a rural part of Wisconsin where cell phone service is unreliable or unavailable? If so, join us in urging state legislators to support a bill that would require phone companies to offer traditional, basic land line telephone service in all parts of Wisconsin.
Inslee Bill Signing
This week, Governor Jay Inslee signed into law several bills that are important for people 50+. These include legislation to improve long term care quality and financing, ensure pedestrian safety, expand access to prescription drugs and protect vulnerable adults. Special thanks to the legislators who sponsored these bills and to the AARP members who testified before committees, met with legislators, made phone calls and wrote e-mails in support of these bills. All of the hard work paid off. Here’s what passed:
