Hurricane Season in RGV: Prepare, Respond, Recover, Resources

The 2019 hurricane season begins June 1, and as storms threaten the US, it is important to have a safety plan. AccuWeather is predicting 12 to 14 storms (five to seven hurricanes) would form this 2019 hurricane season. No one can predict where these storms will hit, which is why it is important to be prepared. Hurricane Harvey caused countless deaths, massive destruction and mass evacuations in Texas. While we cannot predict which communities will be hit by a hurricane, one thing we can do is prepare for this type of event.

We at AARP know people who are 50+ sometimes face additional challenges, which is why we wanted to arm you with information that can help you weather the 2019 hurricane season:

  1. Prepare
  2. Respond
  3. Recover
  4. Resources
