AARP North Dakota will host six retirement-planning education events in August and September in Minot, Bismarck, Grand Forks and Fargo. The “Get to Know Social Security” events will focus on getting the most out of Social Security in retirement. You’ll also have the opportunity to gather more resources on retirement planning and Medicare.

The presenter will be from the Social Security Administration.

Surveys by AARP and other groups show that many people are unfamiliar with the workings of Social Security, which can lead them to make wrong decisions about when to start benefits. These educational sessions are meant to give soon-to-be retirees the information they need to make educated decisions about Social Security benefits in retirement.

There is no cost to attend, but registration is required. Call toll-free 877-926-8300 or register online by clicking on the name of the city below where you plan to attend.

Evening lounge and learns will be held in Minot and Grand Forks while both a lunch session and evening session will be held in Bismarck and Fargo. (Please only register for one.)
