Caregiving: The Circle of Love

A documentary showing that highlights three AAPI caregivers and their caregiving journey, followed by a discussion with AARP Historian Emerita, Lily Liu.

The 14-minute documentary, "Caregiving:  The Circle of Love," produced by AARP and the sharing of AARP resources such as the guidebook, Prepare to Care:  A Planning Guide for Families, will help families start the difficult but vital conversation about caregiving. Professionals who work with diverse older adults in the community and their families will learn pertinent tips to help foster a larger discussion about caregiving.

At the event:

  • Learn tips to help families start preparing for caregiving.
  • Enhance understanding of the issues unique to family caregivers in the Asian-American community.
  • Meet, network with and learn from other professionals working with diverse older adults in the community.
  • Earn continuing education credits.

Continuing Education Information (2.0 Continuing Education Units): APA; BRN; CAMFT (serves LCSWs); MCLE.

Beginning Level: No former knowledge of the specific content area is required. The activity will provide information at an introductory level.

All Continuing Education certificates will be delivered digitally, within 5 days of the event. An evaluation-test will be provided to all CE registrants, who must then attend the entire program and turn in their evaluation at the end of the program in order to qualify for a CE certificate.

American Psychological Association (APA): Institute on Aging is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Institute on Aging maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN), Provider # CEP13610, for 2.0 Contact Hours.

CAMFT: Course meets the qualifications for 2.0 hours of continuing education credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. CAMFT provider number is #135377.

State Bar of California (MCLE) : Course meets the qualifications for 2.0 hours of continuing education credit for Attorneys (Provider #13264).
