It's Not Too Late to Walk to End Alzheimer's

Senior woman with daughter

The Alzheimer's Association's "Walk to End Alzheimer's" is the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support, and research.  Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide and four locations in the Utah Chapter region, this event is open to people of all ages to raise hope and funds for those afflicted with this disease.  So how can you participate?

There are still three walks in Utah, all in September.  The next walk is in Ogden on September 14th, the next weekend on the 21st is the walk in Logan, and the final walk of the month on the 28th is in Provo.  To register for a walk in your community click here to be directed to the Alzheimer's Association website.  From there, you can click on "Utah" for information on each walk.

Part of your participation in the walk includes fundraising.  You can start with a self-donation, e-mails from the Participation Center (already written for you) to your friends and family, and fundraising appeals through social media.

Where does the money go?  It helps families around the country by continuing to provide education and support.  It also funds critical research into methods of treatment, prevention, and hopefully a cure.  The Alzheimer's Association is a donor-supported nonprofit that counts on these "Walks to End Alzheimer's" as a major source of funding to accomplish its mission.
