Join AARP Virginia and other members in Roanoke on Tuesday, August 14 at Shakers Valley View Restaurant and in Lynchburg Tuesday, August 28 at Charley's Restaurant for an evening of good conversation, laughs, and food.  Space has been reserved for members and their guests to enjoy dinner together with a 10% discount on dinner entrees, excluding alcoholic beverages.  No products or services will be sold during this event.

AARP has reserved a section of Brittany’s Restaurant and Sports Bar for members and their guests to enjoy dinner together. Discounted meals, which include salad and non-alcoholic drinks, are $12.00 including tax and tip. Come as you are and leave as you wish anytime between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

On November 23-24, 1985, Egyptair Flight 648, bound for Cairo, was taken by three armed hijackers shortly after take-off from Athens.  The terrorists were members of the Abu Nidal Organization (ANO), a splinter group of the PLO.  There were 89 passengers and 6 crew members on board.
