Legislators, policy experts, and health care representatives will take questions from the public on the proposal to expand Virginia’s Medicaid program at a series of public forums across the Commonwealth. The community forums — sponsored by AARP Virginia, the Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy, and the HAV (Healthcare for All Virginians coalition) — will be held in the Richmond area, Virginia Beach, Fredericksburg and Lynchburg over the next two weeks.

The Community Idea Stations and OneVirginia2021 are joining forces to produce a statewide public television documentary, GerryRIGGED: Turning Democracy On Its Head. This one-hour documentary will bring awareness to the impact of gerrymandering, and explore how Virginia can progress from a system where legislators create their own districts toward a system that makes sense for true representative government.

Throughout the holiday season, The Holiday Project organizes visits to people in nursing homes, hospitals and other facilities across Fredericksburg. Volunteers can join an existing visit team, start their own visit team, or register to participate as a group!
