Legislators, policy experts, and health care representatives will take questions from the public on the proposal to expand Virginia’s Medicaid program at a series of public forums across the Commonwealth. The community forums — sponsored by AARP Virginia, the Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy, and the HAV (Healthcare for All Virginians coalition) — will be held in the Richmond area, Virginia Beach, Fredericksburg and Lynchburg over the next two weeks.
Word "Fraud" on dollar bills
In 2015, approximately $15 billion was stolen from 13.1 million American consumers who were victims of fraud. The 50+ community is often the target of fraudsters, while only makes up 34% of the population, senior citizens make up 55% of reported fraud victims. The AARP Fraud Watch Network is proud to put the spotlight on common scams and show you how to protect yourself from becoming a victim, and we’re continuing that commitment throughout the month of April. Check out our upcoming fraud prevention events below.

The Community Idea Stations and  OneVirginia2021 are joining forces to produce a statewide public television documentary,  GerryRIGGED: Turning Democracy On Its Head. This one-hour documentary will bring awareness to the impact of gerrymandering, and explore how Virginia can progress from a system where legislators create their own districts toward a system that makes sense for true representative government.
