The Community Idea Stations and OneVirginia2021 are joining forces to produce a statewide public television documentary, GerryRIGGED: Turning Democracy On Its Head. This one-hour documentary will bring awareness to the impact of gerrymandering, and explore how Virginia can progress from a system where legislators create their own districts toward a system that makes sense for true representative government.

On Tuesday, Oct. 4 AARP Virginia is hosting debate watch parties in Richmond and Virginia Beach so that voters can have fun, enjoy snacks and discuss the debate with their peers.

Be an informed voter by tuning in to the Congressional District 8 Candidate Forum at 7 p.m. on September 19. The forum will feature Democrat Donald Beyer, Jr., Republican Charles Hernick and Independent Julio Gracia. AARP has teamed up with The League of Women Voters and other groups to bring the broadcast to voters in the district.
