Volunteer Tom Trail Receives Humane Society Award

Tom Trail
Boise, Idaho - Tom Trail is a former Idaho State Representative and currently volunteers on AARP Idaho’s Executive Council. This week he received the Legislator of the Year award from the Human Society of the United States.

From Lisa Kauffman, Idaho State Director of the Humane Society - "The Humane Society of the United States is pleased to award former Representative Tom Trail with the Legislator of the Year award for his continuous efforts to bring animal welfare legislation to the attention of Idaho lawmakers.  Rep. Trail introduced several bills while serving his district that dealt with dog fighting, cock fighting, and various forms of animal cruelty which included torture, cruelty, and neglect.  He has always been a champion for all animals and understands that pets are part of the family, not something to be owned like a piece of property, and that we have a moral responsibility to care for and provide for them.  We wish Rep. Trail the best of luck in his retirement and new ventures."
