AARP Experience Corps is recruiting volunteers who are interested in tutoring first, second and third graders in the Tempe Elementary Schools.

AARP Experience Corps is a literacy skills tutoring program designed to provide support to struggling students in the area of reading.

“We’re recruiting volunteers who are 50 plus years of age and interested in helping kids with their reading,” said Rebecca Bond, Program Director for AARP Experience Corps.

AARP Experience Corps volunteers are asked to commit for an entire school year, donate five to seven hours per week and provide one-on-one tutoring to kids at least two times a week. Program training is provided by AARP Experience Corps.

Volunteers must possess a high school diploma and agree to a complete criminal background (fingerprint clearance) and reference check.
