As the general election approaches, AARP Iowa staff are educating residents on changes to voter laws, how to find their polling place and what to bring to the polls.

Close races are expected for governor and in Northeastern Iowa’s First Congressional District.

The state’s new voter ID law requires all voters to show a driver’s license, passport, military ID or state-issued voter card.

For more details, visit the Iowa secretary of state’s website, sos.iowa.gov.

AARP is offering forums to suggest questions on Medicare and Social Security that people should ask candidates. For further information, visit aarp.org/ia.
