Women's Empowerment Luncheon Features Executive Councilmember Myrtle Habersham

We’re proud to honor Macon’s own Myrtle S. Habersham during Women’s History Month.

On April 13, Myrtle and several other notable women will share their inspirational stories at the 2^nd Annual Women’s Empowerment Luncheon at the Tubman Museum.

In addition to active civic engagement, Myrtle is the Managing Member of M S Habersham Consulting Services, LLC. After more than three decades of senior-level federal employment, she retired in August 2010.

A native of Atlanta, Ga., Myrtle provides cutting-edge guidance and targeted insights to support competitive decision-making across a wide spectrum of leadership and management areas.

For more than 18 years as a member of the Senior Executive Corp -- about 6,000 out of more than 2 million federal employees -- Myrtle demonstrated excellence in her performance. She was promoted to regional and national senior leadership positions in three of the federal government's most important, visible, and publicly significant agencies: the Social Security Administration, the Department of Health and Human Services, and the Federal Housing Finance Agency.

 AARP Executive Councilmember and Lead Volunteer for Macon-Bibb 

Myrtle is Macon's lead volunteer and has more than doubled the number of volunteers here over the past five years, bringing the total to more than 100+.

She has been a visiting senior policy fellow and CARE-NET (caregiving networks) coordinator and consultant for the Rosalyn Carter Institute for Caregiving. In addition, she is on the executive boards of AIDS Atlanta; the Andrew and Walter Young Southwest YMCA; Urban League of Greater Atlanta; Middle Georgia CARE-NET; Macon-Bibb Workforce; Macon Arts Alliance; Navicent Health's Carlyle Place, Macon-Bibb Pedestrian Safety Review Board; and Community Foundation of Central Georgia. Myrtle is also a founding board member of the Otis Redding Dream Academy Foundation.
