AARP Hawai`i’s Fast, Healthy & Ono Cooking Resumes

AARP Hawai`i’s popular Fast, Healthy and Ono cooking webinars are back with recipes and live instruction for baking bread to making Mexican and Korean rice bowls to creating somen noodle nest pupus.

Join AARP Hawai`i and Windward Community College Uala Leaf Café Chef Daniel Swift on Thursdays starting Jan. 28 at 5 p.m. for the weekly online classes. Register to get a Zoom link at aarp.cvent.com/HIcooking or visit aarp.org/hi or the AARP Hawai`i Facebook page and click on Upcoming Events to see all the webinars that are offered.

Those who register will be emailed the recipe of the dish being cooked ahead of time so you can cook along with the chef. You can also watch the webinar as a Facebook Live simulcast on the AARP Hawai`i Facebook page.

“The dishes featured in the cooking series are fast, healthy and ono and the recipes are written so that any home cook can prepare them,” said Jackie Boland, AARP Hawai`i Outreach Director. “Participants are able to ask questions of Chef Swift and are encouraged to modify the recipes to suit their personal taste.”

The schedule is as follows. All webinars start at 5 p.m.:

Jan. 28 – Yeast Bread Demystified
Feb. 4 – Popular Pupus
Feb. 11 – Thai Beef Salad/Learn About Dressings
Feb. 18 – Butchery Lesson
