Honor Vietnam War Veterans by Volunteering or Visiting The Wall That Heals

Organizers of the visit of The Wall That Heals are looking for volunteers to set up, close and staff The Wall and a mobile education exhibit when The Wall comes to the University of Hawaii – West Oahu Great Lawn in January.

The ¾ scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. honors service members and families touched by the Vietnam War, including those who gave their lives, those who passed after the war and those still with us, as well as Vietnamese immigrants who came to America for a better life.

The Wall will be escorted to UH-West Oahu on Jan.12 and arrive at about 1 p.m. The exhibition will be set up on Jan. 13 with public visits starting after the first panel is installed at about 11 a.m. The Wall should be installed by 3 p.m.

Formal opening ceremonies take place at 10 a.m. on Jan. 14. The Wall will be escorted to UH-West Oahu on Jan.12 and arrive at about 1 p.m. The Wall will open 24-hours a day until a closing ceremony on Jan. 19 from 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.
