Recognize and Reduce Your Type 2 Diabetes Risk

Learn to recognize and reduce your risk of developing type 2 diabetes at a free webinar offered by AARP Hawai`i on Tuesday, May 4 at 2 p.m.

Dawn Paikala of the National Kidney Foundation of Hawai`i will explain the symptoms of pre-diabetes and what you can do to prevent pre-diabetes from turning into type 2 diabetes with diet, exercise and medication.

Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of diabetes and most often develops in people over 45. It’s a chronic disease that results from an impairment in your body’s ability to process sugar, resulting in high blood sugar that can increase your risk of serious complications like stroke and heart attack.
