Celebrate Black Music Month with Jazz on the Ave.

The Suite Life

June is Black Music Month, and AARP Indiana is proud to sponsor Madam CJ Walker Legacy Center’s special celebration of it – Jazz on the Ave: The Suite Life.

This event will fuse local, Indianapolis talent with timeless classics we’ve all come to know and love. You’ll recognize tunes from Marvin Gaye, Jill Scott, Whitney Houston, Lauryn Hill, and Stevie Wonder.

Local artists Bashiri Asad, Okara Imani, TribeSouL, Alaina Renae, and Deaon Forever will bring this music to life.

“We’re excited to support Jazz on the Ave this year,” Mandla Moyo, AARP Indiana Director of Community Outreach, said. “This event celebrates the cornerstones of American music created by African and Black Americans and gives people a safe way to enjoy music with the community during the times of COVID-19.”

Tickets for this virtual event are available through the Madam Walker Legacy Center via Eventbrite. The tickets are free, but there are limited quantities available.*
