What Is AARP Indiana’s Role?

Vision Zero Task Force Public Meeting

AARP Indiana was selected by the City-County Council to serve on the Vision Zero Task Force to voice the interests of Hoosiers 50-plus and is represented by Director of Community Engagement, Addison Pollock. In this role, he attends public committee meetings where he relays the interests and concerns of the 50-plus from across the city. Addison works closely with the AARP Indiana volunteer team in Indianapolis which provides him with insights into the needs of this unique population.

Members of the Vision Zero Task Force

Addison joins other Task Force members including representatives from the City-County Council, Indianapolis-Marion County Police Department, Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, Indianapolis Public Schools, Health by Design, various city departments, the recreational bicycle community, and more. The main scope of work being done includes developing a plan with data-driven strategies to improve road safety.

What Can You Do?
Currently, the Vision Zero Task Force is seeking public input to help with data collection efforts and shaping of the Vision Zero Action Plan. Whether you walk, bike, drive, or take transit, your experiences matter. You can share your insights and concerns about traffic safety through the Vision Zero interactive map and survey at the link below.

The survey is open to any individuals in the greater Indianapolis and Marion County areas, no matter what age you are. The deadline to complete your submission is May 1, 2025.

Your input will help the Vision Zero Task Force eliminate traffic-related deaths and serious injuries by creating a more inclusive and accessible transportation network across Indianapolis and the Marion County area.
