The Indiana Department of Health announced a new age group of Hoosiers are eligible to register for COVID-19 vaccines.

As of February 23, people 60 and older are now able to use the State of Indiana’s registration portals to sign up for the vaccine.

“We’re heartened to see our state continue to prioritize older Hoosiers for vaccination,” Sarah Waddle, AARP Indiana state director, said. “It is important than our most vulnerable populations have vaccination available to them if they want it and if their healthcare providers think it’s right for them.”

You can read AARP Indiana’s comprehensive guide on vaccines so you can learn about them and Indiana’s vaccination distribution plan.

For the past month, AARP Indiana volunteers have been dialing out to members throughout the state to inform them about the vaccination process. Our team is looking to expand, and there is an upcoming informational session about how you can join us if you’d like to make a difference in this outreach and education.

Additionally, AARP Indiana will host a Telephone Town Hall with State Health Commissioner Dr. Kristina Box on March 4 at 4:30 p.m. EST. You can sign up to have us call you to participate here.

“When it comes to the COVID-19 vaccination process, Indiana is setting a strong example for the rest of the country,” Waddle said. “AARP Indiana will continue advocating for older Hoosiers as we fight to get through the pandemic.”
