AARP Maryland is proud to announce the release of the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Senior Resource Guide, a 40-page publication developed in collaboration with the AARP Maryland AAPI Consortium. This initiative was driven by a committed group of AAPI leaders representing nonprofits and government agencies from across the state, all working to serve and uplift Maryland’s diverse and growing AAPI population.

The guide was compiled by AARP Maryland staff and volunteers as a direct response to the Consortium’s call for a resource that addresses the distinct challenges faced by AAPI older adults and their caregivers. As Maryland’s fastest-growing minority group, AAPI communities often face cultural and linguistic barriers when accessing critical services. This guide aims to bridge those gaps by providing comprehensive, culturally informed support.
What’s Inside the Guide
The AAPI Senior Resource Guide offers valuable information tailored specifically to the needs of AAPI older adults and their families.
Topics include:
- Health care and wellness
- Legal and financial assistance
- Social services and housing
- Community programs and caregiver support
The guide’s content reflects a strong commitment to ensuring that no member of our community is left behind due to lack of access or information. By addressing the real-world concerns of AAPI families, this publication supports greater access to services and improved quality of life.
How to Get a Copy
We invite community partners, caregivers, and individuals to download or request copies of the guide for distribution. To obtain additional copies or to share feedback, please contact Nancy Carr at ncarr@aarp.org.
Together, we can continue working toward a Maryland where every resident has access to the resources they need to age with dignity and support.
