AARP Eye Center
Older adults with mild memory impairment (especially those with early stage Alzheimer's Disease) are needed for an ongoing research study around diet and memory at Johns Hopkins Medicine.
The clinical trial is looking at the differences between a high-fat, low-carbohydrate diet vs. a low-fat diet high in fruits, vegetables and grains. Both diets are considered safe for most physically healthy older adults. All education, support and vitamin supplements are being provided free of charge, and selected participants will be able to stay on their current medications. Participation lasts approximately 15 weeks, and requires seven in-person visits to the Johns Hopkins hospital (parking will be paid for). $100 in supermarket gift cards will be provided to participants for follow-up visits.
Participants' physicians will be asked to agree to their patients' participation.
