Celebrate the important role grandparents play in families at the AARP Michigan Grandparents Day event on Sunday, Sept. 11.
The free event will run from 1-5 p.m. at the Charles Wright Museum of African American History at 315 E. Warren Ave., Detroit.
“Grandparents Day is a unique opportunity for grandparents and parents to bring their children to a fulfilling event that allows them to learn and play together in a safe and fun environment,” said Lisa Whitmore Davis, AARP Michigan Associate State Director for Multi-cultural Outreach.
Activities and exhibits include: The AARP Health, Wellness and Education Zone; story-telling; musical performances; arts and crafts; and refreshments.
There will be valet parking for $5.
