On October 3rd, AARP Nebraska sponsored, "A Family Affair: Understanding Colorectal Cancer Risk Factors and Screening Options".
The event was organized by the Great Plains Quality Innovation Network (QIN) who partnered with organizations from eight communities across the four-state region to host viewing sites for American Cancer Society's Vice President of Cancer Control Intervention Dr. Durado Brooks’ live presentation, in which he presented colorectal cancer prevention techniques.
The three biggest takeaways from the event were:
1.) Know your family history
2.) Talk to your health care provider
3.) Get a colorectal cancer screening
