State Senator John McCollister of Omaha has introduced LB 1032, the Transitional Health Insurance Program Act. The bill will provide affordable healthcare coverage to tens of thousands of hard-working Nebraskans who don’t have insurance and can’t afford it.
Learn more about LB 1032.
Our state leaders need to act this year to bring back about $2 billion in federal funds – our tax dollars - to Nebraska between now and 2020. The money will boost Nebraska’s economy, supporting an estimated 10,000 jobs and generating about $175 million in state tax revenue.
Nebraskans are paying federal taxes to support healthcare coverage for residents in other states across the country. The bill will bring tax dollars that originated in Nebraska back to our state and support our economy.
By spurring economic activity, and reducing state costs for programs that will no longer be needed, LB 1032 will be able to offset the state cost to close the healthcare coverage gap.
We need your help to keep the pressure on Nebraska lawmakers to close the healthcare coverage gap. Call Governor Pete Ricketts and urge him to support LB 1032.
