AARP Vermont Community Action Grants Spruce up Neighborhoods

mmh bismarck.jpg

AARP Vermont has awarded $10,000 in Community Action grants to seven local organizations for their efforts to improve the livability of their communities for residents of all ages.

The projects must be completed within six months.

From replenishing a food bank hit hard during the pandemic to creating an intergenerational oral-history project connecting residents, the good works enhance Vermont neighborhoods in the areas of housing, mobility and community engagement.

The recipients are the Old East End Neighborhood Coalition, Glen Road Group Project, Saint Albans Museum, Pawlet Public Library, Westminster Cares, Charlotte-Shelburne-Hinesburg Rotary Club and the Canaan Naturally Connected group.
