Kick Your Bicycling Skills into Gear!

Boomers and Bike riders photo shoot

Have you been wanting to get back on your bike, but feel a little rusty with your riding skills?

Has your trusty bike been sitting in the garage for too many years, just waiting for you to take it out again and feel the breeze on your face, but needs a bit of grease and air to start rolling again?

AARP Vermont is partnering with Local Motion to bring you a workshop that’s aimed at kicking your riding skills back into gear!

Join us on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Burlington’s Leddy Park for a quick tune-up on your bike, participate in a “bike rodeo” to practice your riding skills, and join us for an optional guided ride along the bike path afterwards.

From 9:00 am to 10:00 am, there will be Quick tune-ups and light refreshments available. Bikes must need only basic work performed. If your bike needs more than a basic tune-up, Local Motion’s Trailside Center will have a limited number of bikes available to be rented at a discount.

From 10:00 am to 11:00 am, Local Motion staff will cover basic bike riding skills that will ensure participants are comfortable and safe while riding their bikes. After the lesson portion is complete, there will be a “rodeo” style game, where participants will be able to practice these skills on their bikes.

Then from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm there is an optional guided ride along Burlington's Waterfront bike path.

CAPACITY IS LIMITED. REGISTRATION REQUIRED: https://events.aarp.org/BikeRodeo23
