AARP Vermont and CarShare Vermont are partnering to offer AARP members a special deal when applying for a Car Share membership – they are waiving the $30 application fee! Cars are available throughout Burlington and Winooski, VT.

Living in Vermont, everyone needs a car sometimes, but you don’t have to own one (or more) to enjoy the convenience of driving. When you join CarShare Vermont, you gain 24/7 access to our neighborhood-based fleet of vehicles. Grab a Prius for an hour to run some errands, take a Subaru to the mountain for the day, or help a friend move with our pickup truck or mini-van. Whenever you need to drive, reserve the vehicle of your choice near you, get in, and go. When you’re done, return it to its parking spot and be on your merry way. Leave the rest to us—gas, insurance, parking, roadside assistance, bike racks, snow tires, and more—it’s all included.

As they age, more and more Vermonters are letting go of their cars in favor of public transit, walking, etc. At the same time many retirees are moving to more urban settings where they rarely need a car. CarShare Vermont gives residents the freedom to drive when they have to, and to walk, bike, or take the bus when they don’t.

Join

Complete a quick online application; it only takes a few minutes. If you’re 18 or over and have a clean driving record, you can probably join CarShare Vermont; please review our eligibility requirements to make sure. AARP member get the $30 application fee waived.

Reserve

Choose your vehicle and pickup location online and reserve by the hour or day.

Drive

Use your very own key fob to unlock the car and go! Shopping, work meetings, a road trip—you’ve got the freedom to go wherever, whenever.

You only pay for what you use

CarShare Vermont’s all-inclusive rates start at $6.00 an hour and $.35 per mile, with day rates available. You pay according to how much you drive. Curious why people car-share? Here are a few reasons.
