Bridging the Justice Gap for Vulnerable Washington, DC Elders
For 50 years, Legal Counsel for the Elderly (LCE) has championed the dignity and rights of Washington, D.C. elders by providing free legal and social work services to those in need. LCE's work addresses the most important aspects of an older adult’s life, including housing, economic security, self-determination, and health and safety. This work has an impact on the lives of nearly 10,000 people annually, while advocating for city-wide reforms in laws, regulations, and long-term care facilities.
In the last two years, LCE has secured nearly $40 million in benefits for clients. That’s homes saved, public benefits secured, and more. And it equates to nearly $400,000 every week.
