Alaska's longstanding tradition of military service and community support will be honored on December 18, 2025, at the Glenn Massay Theatre at Mat-Su College in a special event hosted by AARP Alaska. We are pleased to announce a complimentary screening of the acclaimed documentary Dear Sirs, presented alongside a comprehensive Veteran Resource Fair. This occasion is designed to recognize those who have served, provide essential resources, and bring together veterans, active-duty service members, families, and our broader Mat-Su Valley community.

Dear Sirs is a remarkable film chronicling filmmaker Mark Pedri’s journey as he retraces his grandfather’s path through World War II Europe. The narrative unfolds through personal letters, archival footage, and interviews, offering a heartfelt exploration of service, sacrifice, and the enduring bonds between generations. Veterans and their families will find the film profoundly moving, and the event provides all attendees with an opportunity to reflect on the legacy of service.

Prior to and following the screening, attendees are invited to visit the Veteran Resource Fair. This fair features both local and statewide organizations committed to supporting veterans and military families. From healthcare information and benefits counseling to opportunities for social engagement and community involvement, the fair offers guidance, resources, and fellowship. Whether you are a veteran seeking support, a family member looking to connect, or a community member wishing to express gratitude, you will find this event meaningful.

Please note that registration is required to attend this event. We encourage you to secure your place and join AARP Alaska at the Glenn Massay Theatre for a day of reflection, connection, and appreciation. Let us come together to honor the stories and service that unite us all. Friends, family, and community members are most welcome.
