AARP Eye Center
AARP was the premier sponsor of the Eleone Dance Theatre’s “Carols in Color,” an annual dance performance hosted by the Christina Cultural Arts Center. The event provides holiday fun for Wilmington’s community, many of whom are low and moderate income.
As the intergenerational audience arrived, they were greeted by AARP volunteers and a table with information and giveaways. To kick off the festivities, Associate State Director for Community Outreach took the stage and welcomed a crowd of 1,000 children, parents, and grandparents to the performance. When AARP was recognized by Christina Cultural Arts as a premier sponsor, the crowd applauded with enthusiasm.
The sponsorship will help Christina Cultural Arts achieve its mission of making affordable arts education and multicultural programs accessible to children, teens and adults in a family environment. The Center has been in existence for more than 60 years and has received numerous state and national awards. In addition to the arts, the Center oversees a charter school and athletic programs.
