Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for AARP Sponsored Outdoor Fitness Park in Herman Holloway Park, Wilmington

WHAT: AARP State Director Lucretia Young will officially open the fourth of several AARP sponsored outdoor fitness parks with a ribbon cutting ceremony in Herman M. Holloway Sr. Park. The media is invited to attend.

In honor of its 60th anniversary, AARP is deepening its commitment to healthy aging. Over the next several years, AARP plans to sponsor a fitness park in every state, D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. AARP is working with FitLot -- a 501c3 organization dedicated to helping communities find the resources they need to plan, build and program outdoor fitness parks -- to construct over a dozen parks in 2019. Each park will include FitLot™ exercise equipment and space for group programs.
