Rita Landgraf Named to Nationwide AARP Caregiving Team

AARP Delaware’s State Director, Lucretia Young, and State President, George Meldrum, welcome Rita Landgraf to the National AARP family. Rita is taking on a new role as Director of AARP’s Family & Caregiving Team as part of AARP's Government Affairs division.

Delawareans will remember Rita as the former Cabinet Secretary of Health and Social Services for the State. She also has a deep background in long-term care, health care, and aging and disability issues. Most recently, she served as Professor of Practice and Distinguished Health and Social Services Administrator in Residence at the University of Delaware. Rita also served as the AARP Delaware volunteer state president and worked at the Arc and NAMI (among other roles). Rita assumed her new position at AARP on February 20th.

AARP is striving to make it easier for older people to live independently and remain in their homes and communities where they prefer to be, surrounded by family and friends. By providing planning resources, like AARP Family Caregiving Guide: A Planning Guide for Families, and additional forms of support to family caregivers, AARP hopes to create a country where people can continue to live in their homes and communities for as long as they choose. View AARP’s nationwide Family Caregiving Resources and local Caregiving Resources for Delaware.
