Jack Hogan, District Coordinator for Tax-Aide of New Castle County, said he was grateful to have Senator Coons visit and see the hard work of the volunteers. Senator Coons acknowledged that the aide from the volunteers saves Delaware residents the expense of using a tax preparer.
“He took the time to speak to each of our volunteers and listened to their comments. He thanked us for our dedication to assisting citizens of New Castle County”, said Hogan.
Newark Senior Center Executive Director Carla Grygiel, was also thrilled to have the Senator’s support and participation at Friday’s event. The center is celebrating their 50th anniversary this year with a variety of great programming including a sold out gala on April 9th, the Senator’s Tax-Aide visit, and an upcoming ice cream social on May 6th.
“We are celebrating 50 years of service to the Newark community and are happy to have the great group of AARP Tax-Aide volunteers at the center”, said Grygiel. “We are happy to provide the space for the volunteers so that they can give back in a meaningful way”.
