We’re here for you

We’re moving past the three month mark of Delaware’s stay-at-home order and our new practices of social distancing. On behalf of the staff and volunteers at AARP Delaware, I hope you and your family are faring well. The staff at AARP Delaware will be working from their homes for the summer, and our in-person events will resume in 2021.

You can still enjoy all AARP has to offer! We’re hosting informative conversations with key state leaders on our Facebook page (AARPDE) Keep checking in on Facebook and on our blog page (aarp.org/de) for more online events like concerts and exercise classes to keep you moving. Also, AARP hosts a regular series of Coronavirus Information Tele-Town Halls every Thursday at 1 PM.

AARP been very busy advocating for issues that affect you and your loved ones as well. We are working hard to ensure more transparency, testing and information from Delaware’s Long-Term Care facilities and nursing homes. On June 1, the Share the Care Act went into effect to help family caregivers with a loved one living at home have more support. We also want to encourage Delawareans to exercise their right to vote – and we know our members show up to the polls. The good news is that Delaware has made it easier to obtain an absentee ballot this year. It’s easier than ever to vote, stay healthy and stay safe.

Our team always enjoys hearing from you. We may be at home, but we’re here for you.
