Get Tips to Make Your Home a Forever Home

Learn how home modifications can help kupuna age in place and live comfortably in their own homes at a free webinar on Wednesday, March 30 at 10 a.m.

An AARP survey of older Oahu residents found most like the communities in which they live and nearly 80 percent  -- four out of five – want to remain in their own homes as they age. Not surprisingly, many home and apartment owners age 45 and older say they will have to remodel their homes to allow them to continue living there, with bathrooms (41 percent) being the most common home modification.

The Home Modifications for Aging in Place webinar will include information on simple fixes that homeowners can do themselves as well as modifications that involve hiring professionals. Participants will also learn about  a new effort to make home modification consultations available to rural communities via telehealth services.
