Learn to Fight Crime and Be Fire Safe at Free AARP Hawai`i Webinars

Learn about public safety, fighting crime and home safety in back-to-back webinars with CrimeStoppers Honolulu and the Honolulu Fire Department on April 19 and 20th.

Sgt. Chris Kim, the coordinator of CrimeStoppers Honolulu, will talk about crime trends, catching criminals and how you can protect yourself from becoming a victim of crime on Wednesday, April 19. Kim will also share information on the Student CrimeStoppers and Animal Crime Stoppers programs, dealing with illegal and disruptive activities in schools and the reporting of harm against animals.

On Thursday, April 20, Honolulu Fire Department Inspector Daniel Andrade will share home fire prevention tips and explain how to prevent tripping hazards that lead to falls. He will also talk about what happens after you call 9-1-1 and how to prepare for the fire department’s response.

Both webinars are on Zoom and run from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Register to get a Zoom link by going to aarp.org/hi or the AARP Hawai`I Facebook page and searching for the Upcoming Events tab, where you’ll be able to see and register for all the activities AARP is offering.
