Tell Your Legislator Nursing Home Residents Deserve Better

In this session, Illinois lawmakers have the opportunity to improve subpar conditions for most the state’s most vulnerable residents who live in nursing homes and other long-term care facilities. Help us to urge them to make sure legislation under negotiation will:

•     Prioritize accountability, quality of care for residents, and workforce development in long-term care facilities. 
•     Disrupt racial inequities and health disparities of nursing home residents enrolled in Medicaid.
•    End overcrowding of nursing home rooms with 3 or more persons.
•    Require greater transparency of nursing home ownership and revenue,
•   Directly tie funding, rates and incentives to demonstrable and sustained nursing home performance.
•    Ensure incentives for resident community services and placement.

SENIORS DESERVE BETTER. They have worked hard their entire lives and should not now confront an out-of-date long-term care system.
