Continuing the efforts to ensure that transportation issues do not prohibit residents from being able to vote in this year’s election, AARP Indiana and the IndyGo Foundation announced today that IndyGo will be fare-free on both fixed route and IndyGo Access services on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
“Encouraging people to use their right to vote is a cornerstone of AARP Indiana’s work in Indianapolis and throughout the state,” said Addison Pollock, AARP Indiana director of community engagement. “We’re excited to partner once again with IndyGo to provide free fare to riders on Election Day to help make it a little easier for Hoosiers to get to the polls.”
“Public transportation connects people to their lives whether that be a job, healthcare, or the polls,” said Emily Meaux, Executive Director of the IndyGo Foundation. “IndyGo Foundation is so grateful for the partnership with AARP Indiana to provide thousands of IndyGo riders with free fare on Election Day.”
Riders can plan their trips using by visiting the IndyGo website at https://www.indygo.net/plan-your-trip/.
