AARP Louisiana is excited to host Hispanic/Latino Financial Freedom Day on Saturday, Oct. 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Holiday Inn Crown Plaza in Kenner, Louisiana.

This year’s event will occur during Hispanic Heritage Month, and will address some of the economic struggles that have plagued the Hispanic/Latino community, in the wake of the Great Recession.

Financial Freedom Day will feature a panel discussion titled “The Unbanked or Underbanked Latino Consumer.” Certified financial planners will also be on site to give tips on cash management, debt reduction, and more!

“The road to financial security is paved with the money we save now,” said Rafael Saddy, Executive Council member, AARP Louisiana. “That’s why we’re excited to host this workshop and empower New Orleans residents with knowledge that will allow them to live their best lives on their own terms.”

The workshop, led by representatives of the Certified Financial Planner, Board of Standards, Inc., will include information on budgeting, finding low fee bank accounts, controlling mortgage and credit card debt, the best savings vehicles, creating emergency funds, college saving tools, and investment products.

For more information on the FREE workshop, call 1-877-926-8300. To register visit: https://aarp.cvent.com/FinancialFreedomDay10-01-16.
