AARP Louisiana announces the appointment of New Orleans resident Pamela C. Butler, MS, CDCES to its volunteer Executive Council. Pamela brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to enhancing the lives of older adults.

Pamela is a certified diabetes care and education specialist and is the owner and president of Second Half Strategies LLC, a company dedicated to empowering individuals in the later stages of life.

Pamela dedicates her time to training individuals living with diabetes, maintains an active presence on social media through her Second Half Strategies Facebook page, engages in volunteer work with AARP Louisiana, and contributes to the National World War II Museum.

Pamela joins a team of seven dynamic volunteer leaders from across the state who are committed to championing AARP’s priorities in Louisiana.

“We are incredibly fortunate to have Pamela join our volunteer ranks as we embark on important issues facing the 50-plus,” said Denise Bottcher, AARP Louisiana state director. “Pamela’s volunteer work to inform and educate older adults and their families about the future of Social Security and Medicare will be increasingly valuable as our state ages.”

“Our volunteers embody boundless passion and a profound dedication to making an impact on our community, and we’re delighted to welcome Pamela to the team,” said Alfred E. Mason, AARP Louisiana state president.

Executive Council members are appointed by the state president for a one-year term and serve as the voice of AARP in their communities.
