Denise Bottcher, state director for AARP Louisiana, expressed deep appreciation for Representative Magee’s unwavering commitment, stating, “We are privileged to present Speaker Pro Tempore Magee with the 2023 Legislator of the Year Award for his tireless efforts in improving the lives of older Louisianans.”

"We extend our gratitude to Representative Magee for his exemplary leadership during the 2023 legislative session. The passage of this legislation marks a significant milestone for our seniors, providing essential funding for Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) options,” said Andrew Muhl, advocacy director. “This becomes especially critical as the population of older adults expands over the next decade."

Representative Magee was honored during an award ceremony on Wednesday, Dec. 13, at 11 a.m. at the Plantation Inn of Houma, located at 1381 W. Tunnel Blvd., Houma, LA 70360.
