AARP Eye Center
Speakers Bureau participation is a great way to get out into the community, make new friends and offer a valuable service.
We are looking for volunteers interested in joining the AARP Maryland Speakers Bureau. The bureau presents various topics important to older adults to local community groups, such as caregiving, health care, driver safety, encore careers, and fraud prevention.
The presentations are both virtual and in-person and are suitable for civic organizations, church groups, senior villages and support groups. Talks typically last 30 to 60 minutes and can be tailored to meet a group's needs.
No previous experience is required. You don't have to be a professional public speaker or subject matter expert to join. We provide the presentations, materials and training, as needed. Check out some of the topics we cover.
Positions are also available to promote and schedule events, as well as to provide technical support for speakers. Interested? Send an email to md@aarp.org with Speakers Bureau in the subject line.
