AARP is pleased to welcome the City of Hyattsville as the latest member of the AARP Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities. As the latest community to sign on to the network and complete an intensive two-year study and planning project, Hyattsville’s civic leaders will have access to global resources and information on age-friendly best practices, models of assessment and implementation, and the experiences of towns and cities around the world.
AARP Maryland is saddened by the passing of Speaker Michael Busch. He was an outstanding public servant who through his compassion and leadership skills worked to improve the lives of all Marylanders.
AARP is committed to fighting for the 50+ Marylanders throughout the state and ensuring that their voices are heard. During our time in Annapolis, we attend delegation meetings, which take place every Friday during the legislative session, and chat with lawmakers to make direct contact with delegates and local leaders from every county. We will update this page after every Delegation Friday to provide you with up-to-date information on our advocacy efforts.
Maryland features some world-class museums, theatre, zoos, as well as other cultural and sporting events. We're working with organizations statewide, from Oakland to Ocean City and places in between, to bring terrific offers on exciting cultural events to AARP members and their guests throughout 2019 and beyond!
We want YOU to come to Annapolis with us on Friday afternoons during the Legislative Session. Learn alongside other Marylanders about how you can make a difference. If interested in attending, contact Tammy Bresnahan at tbresnahan@aarp.org, subject line "Delegation Fridays interest."
